Feed the Kids Food Drive

May 11 - June 15, 2014


City Harvest's annual Feed the Kids food drive runs from Mother's Day to Father's Day and helps provide much-needed food for New York City's children throughout the summer when access to school meals may become limited. Schools, organizations, companies, and New York City's Fire and Police Departments come together to collect non-perishable food donations for City Harvest to pick-up and distribute to our network of more than 500 community food programs serving hungry children and their families across the five boroughs.

Last year, Feed the Kids raised 150,000 pounds of food—enough to feed more than 1,600 families in New York City for an entire summer.


Run a Food Drive

Running a food drive is easy! All you need is a box and a location to set it up. Our digital tool kits provide you with all the materials you will need to run your food drive including instructions, tips, flyers, and posters. At the end of your food drive collection, call City Harvest to schedule a pick-up for donations of 100 lbs or more. If you collect less than 100 lbs, please drop off the donations at one of the following locations:

FDNY – Firehouses
NYPD – Police Stations
Good Will Industries
elberta Restaurant
City Harvest – 6 East 32nd Street
