Hunger Action Month.

Thank you for putting all hands in for Hunger Action Month.

The need for food in New York City continues to outpace pre-pandemic levels. This year, we will rescue and deliver more than 77 million pounds of perfectly good food and distribute it, free of charge, to more than 400 food pantries, soup kitchens, and community programs across the five boroughs.

Throughout September 2023, more than 450 volunteers completed 1,205 hours of service. Together with a generous matching gift from friend of City Harvest Denise Littlefield Sobel, we raised enough to help feed more than 1 million New Yorkers for a day. Our Policy and Advocacy team held a voter registration drive at our Bed-Stay Mobile Market, visited Washington DC with Food Bank For New York City and United Way of New York City and dozens of Feeding America members to meet with elected officials about anti-hunger policies, and released our Policy Platform. We launched our ninth Mobile Market, which takes place at our home in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, hosted our inaugural AAPI + Allies Repack, and so much more!
