Mobile Markets

Mobile Markets® In All Five Boroughs

City Harvest provides over three million pounds of fresh produce, free of charge, every year through our outdoor farmers’ market-style food distributions that we call Mobile Markets®. Last year, our Mobile Markets served more than 111,000 New Yorkers in need.

We also provide additional programming and services at our Mobile Markets, including cooking demonstrations from our Nutrition Education team, and resources from local nonprofits and other community partners.

We’ve expanded our successful Mobile Market model through partnerships to reach more communities across the five boroughs with our Community Partner Distributions.

In October 2024, City Harvest marked the 20th anniversary of our Mobile Markets program. Our first Mobile Market opened at the Melrose Houses in the South Bronx. In the two decades since, the program has grown to 9 Mobile Market sites and 18 Community Partner Distribution sites across all five boroughs.
